I’m Simon, early 20-something technologist, living in Reading in the UK. I work for Microsoft UK as a Devices & Mobility Consultant during the day, and have a broad range of interests and hobbies to keep the evenings & weekends busy.
I am 2013 Graduate of the University of Reading, where I studied and loved Computer Science (BSc), leaving with a 1:1 Honours Degree and a year of Practical experience from an industrial placement year.
I have had a life long obsession with anything electrical, electronic, computational, mechanical, scientific or just powered by explosions.
I maintain and enjoy high performance Japanese classic sports cars, including most recently a rare 300ZX Slicktop Twin Turbo SWB, and a Nissan Elgrand Van for the other 80% of the time !
When I am outdoors, I fly and build radio controlled aircraft & cars, from Nitro power to electric, quadcopters & planes. I have recently been playing with FPV and aerial videography.
At my desk I am a qualified radio amateur, currently holding a foundation licence (M6???) and working towards the next steps, primarily I enjoy HF operating and fiddling with antennas, but I can be found on VHF & UHF trying to catch Satelite skips.
I can sometimes be found playing with Video production, photography, and creating youtube content for various channels, including http://wirelesswings.co.uk and http://youtu.be/users/spafrost .
I am not the most reliable of bloggers, but when I find something out I couldn’t solve on the web, I like to add it to my blog to “Complete the internet” and give something back. So welcome to my space, and feel free to reach out to me if you think there is something I can help with, work or personal, or just say hi!
